The genesis of the Pinehurst community was a gentleman’s farm, owned by Frederick Vaille – the man who brought telephones and electric lighting to Denver in the late 1800’s. Vaille built a two-story log lodge in 1911. That renovated home remains a Pinehurst landmark.
Today, Pinehurst features “country living” in southwest Denver for 113 homeowners. Our community is beautiful, friendly, and considerate. And, we look out for each other. Neighbors are committed to sharing a unique quality of life.
Our community surrounds family-oriented Pinehurst Country Club, which opened its doors in 1958. The championship 18-hole golf course was designed by Press Maxwell, one of the pre-eminent golf course architects in America.
Our neighbor to the east is a national landmark: Fort Logan – built in 1887 as a frontier post and named for General John A. Logan, a Union Army general who established “Decoration Day” to honor the Civil War dead. In 1950 Congress authorized Fort Logan as a national cemetery. The 214 acre site honors our veterans including three Medal of Honor Recipients, a private who served in the Civil War, and seven Buffalo Soldiers.
